Supporting on income generation for community spaces.

Following initial facilitation of key stakeholder discussions and a summit in 2017 to develop a shared approach for CB1 development in Cambridge, we support the CB1 Community initiative on the CB1 Estate through community engagement work. Community Engagement and Project Coordinator Sam Kenward appointed in July 2018 to be based 3 days a week on the estate to work with residents, businesses and partners to further improve CB1 as a place to live, work and play. Big Local Rep for Wormley and Turnford, the Barnfield Estate in Greenwich, and Farley Hill in Luton.
We have worked with BANG over time on different projects and areas such as business planning. BANG are a Brent based charity that supports young people and families to build confidence, self-esteem and skills through a range of activities/programmes.
Big Local Youth Violence Summit
Working in partnership with Sian Penner Associates to plan and deliver a summit for Big Local areas on Serious Youth Violence. This was held in London on 13th July 2019 and was well attended with representatives from 14 different Big Local areas. The day included mapping of their different areas, the issues in those areas and the actions being taken. There was also a Q&A with a panel of experts and some discussion on what areas can do to further address these issues. Read more about our work on serious youth violence here.
Community Engagement Advisor on Youth Violence to Greater London Authority (GLA)

Working with Bountagu Big Local to develop a Big Local Plan for approval from the partnership. This involved drafting a Community Profile, conducting research within the community and producing a budget as part of the Plan. This work was done in partnership with Sian Penner Associates.
Optivo Housing Association and North Preston Hub Steering Group
November 2018-May 2019
Working with Optivo and the local steering group to develop a feasibility study of a new community Hub in Faversham, Kent. This included conducting community research and desktop research for the business plan and drafting a business plan with an action plan of next steps. We worked alongside RCKa Architects who developed designs for the Hub.
Big Local Learning Cluster on Youth Exploitation & Violence
August 2018-March 2019
Working to deliver a Learning Cluster to 16 Big Local areas affected by youth violence and exploitation through four workshop events that included speakers, sharing good practise and learning as well as reflecting on challenges and initiatives across Big Local. Grahame Park Theory of Change Evaluation

Working with Notting Hill Genesis on the evaluation of a neighbourhood approach to a Theory of Change (ToC) that has been developed in Grahame Park. As part of the evaluation, we talked to local residents and a range of stakeholders to see what changes they have experienced in the area since the ToC over the past year. We worked on this project in partnership with WSA Consultants.
Lambeth and Southwark Housing Association

Working with Lambeth and Southwark Housing Association in developing a Community Investment Strategy for 2018-21 by engaging with various stakeholders in the local area and training residents as community researchers. The aim of this work was to strengthen LSHA’s community engagement and enhance tenants’ involvement. You can read about the work in LSHA’s January newsletter here.
Working with Mobilise in West Hendon to develop a Neighbourhood Investment Strategy. As part of this, we trained community researchers to conduct the research which informed the strategy. For more information on this, please look at our Community Research case studies.
