People Affected by Violence
Community Regen works to create safe spaces where communities and decision makers can engage in meaningful discussions.
We facilitate conversations between communities and young people and collaborate with partners on projects aimed at addressing violence.
Our Work
A key focus has been working in neighbourhoods affected by youth violence
Community Regen support communities to reduce the impact of violence and to have a voice. We work with a range of groups, communities and projects to help tackle youth violence.
Paul Bragman and Sian Penner have been working together with a range of groups and communities across London and beyond to help tackle youth violence and have extensive facilitation and support experience in this field.
The approach we take is to focus on challenging power imbalances as well as addressing the needs of the community, both of which are fundamental for community development. The aim of this approach is to create:
- A more successful community response in managing the complexity of youth violence.
- A shared and collective approach to stopping the issue from increasing.
- Increased support for those involved or affected by youth violence.
We have developed a high level of knowledge and experience in this area. We have also supported young people to become co-facilitators as part of our work with the GLA, helping to boost skills and providing an important youth perspective in these very important matters.
